Translation
I provide accurate, thoroughly researched and culturally appropriate translations from Portuguese, Italian and German into English. Although I specialise in the business, travel and tourism sectors, my extensive knowledge and experience of the languages and cultures I work with enable me to translate a wide range of texts accurately and effectively. However, I only accept assignments which I am confident I can complete to the highest possible standard.
Where appropriate, I use translation memory software for all translations, ensuring consistency even across different projects. If you have your own glossary lists, these can be seamlessly integrated into the process, guaranteeing the right word is used every time. Translations of Microsoft Office files will be delivered in the same filetype, retaining formatting; translations of hard copy or PDF documents can be delivered in either MS Word or PDF, with formatting to resemble the original as closely as possible.

Proofreading and editing
I offer high quality proofreading and editing services for all document types, whether they are translations or original source texts.
- Proofreading - the final stage of the publishing process - involves the correction of spelling, punctuation or formatting errors. This makes your texts read naturally and fluently, eliminating inaccuracies which at best cause an impression of sloppiness in the reader, and at worst render the document ambiguous or even incomprehensible.
- Editing (which generally happens before the proofreading stage) is a process which addresses broader issues of terminology, grammar and style, and might consist in the improvement of a poorly written text or translation, or converting rough or "just for info" copy into text of publishable standard.

English language tuition
